Our opening times are Monday - Saturday 10.00 am - 4.00 pm (from 7th September 2020)
Our first Charity Shop opened at 112 Chanterlands Avenue in November 2018.
This project is crucial for helping us raise funds to support the services we provide to women and children experiencing domestic abuse.
Our volunteers undertake many hours of voluntary work which is very much appreciated by everyone involved with Hull Women's Aid. Our manager, Jane, supports our team of dedicated volunteers.
People volunteer for all kinds of reasons: they might have used our services or know someone who has, and want to give something back; some are unemployed and are looking to increase their skills and experience; some are retired and want to do something worthwhile with their time; and others do it as a way to meet new people and make friends. Whatever the reason, no experience is necessary as we try to offer as much training as the volunteer would like. Volunteers can build their skills, knowledge, experience and confidence working with our shop team.
If you are interested in volunteering, you can pop into the shop or give Jane a call on 01482 974576 during our normal opening times to have a chat with her.
Clothes, Jewellery, Books, Toys and Bric-A-Brac - You can donate all these items by dropping off during our normal opening hours
Rags - We do get money from 'rags' so if you are throwing out old clothes, bags, shoes, handbags, belts, etc that are not suitable for sale please bring them to the shop.
If you can label them RAGS - to save us sorting through them that is a great help!
Furniture - If you have unwanted furniture in good condition, with Fire Safety Labels in tact, we would really appreciate it, we can also take towels, bedding and curtains in good condition. If you can drop off that is really appreciated (a call or message on Facebook to warn us is useful!) otherwise we can arrange collections
Electrical Items - We do accept working electrical items, which we have PAT tested before sale
